Estes 2 textos são as descrições dos grupos "I Went to a French Lycee and I'm Oh So Proud" e "I went to a French school"do facebook. Parti-me a rir a lê-los e no fundo...quem dos que passaram por isso não se revê nestes textos...?

1- "If you've spent many hours trying to persuade ordinary folk that you're better than them because you went to a French Lycee, laboured away for many years under the tyranic supervision of French teachers, so rarely got a 20/20 that you laugh at people who think an A is impressive, got "collé" on many Wednesday afternoon, tried climbing over the "grille" during your free period and got caught by an angry "surveillant", spent hours getting bored in the "Perm", spoke a mixture of languages in the playground, even now bump into people who know the brother of the girl you used to play with in primary who moved to Ivory Coast when you were 7, almost had an anxiety attack while revising for your BAC and then again after when you waited for your results to be posted up on the board for the whole school to see, got a Mention which meant the world to you at the time but which no one outside France understands and at the end still have fond memories of those years...you're allowed to join!"

2- "I didn’t know what a GPA was until I started applying to university. My profs didn’t believe in a perfect answer so they rarely gave out a 20. It took me a while to get used to 3 hour exams, I was expecting 4 hour exams!!! The worst week of my life was the one where I was waiting for the bac results! Because getting a mention was all that mattered! Because my profs didn’t let one day pass without scaring me about the bac since I was in 1st grade! But also because I went to school from 8 till 6, my classmates were sometimes closer than family, my profs spend more time with me than my parents! On campus you needed to speak at least 2 languages to get around, but as you walked in the halls, you heard at least 5 more. My teachers went from country to country and so did my classmates! A new student from malasia probably knew my kindergarden boyfriend from Algeria who I went to school in Mexico and who went to elementary school with him in south Africa! And today, I still find people who knew people who I knew because we all went to the French Lycee! "

Priceless

Um elemento da geração seguinte, tb já os leu e, não há volta a dar, o Liceu não muda. Todos parecem reconhecer-se nestas palavras. (tear!)
